Module 2!
We're back!
I thought I'd be a lot more scared to start Module 2 but, reading through the handbook reminds me of how much more I understand now than I did back in February last year. Yes, the work will probably be harder, but I don't have to overcome the same hurdles as before. Like.. understanding referencing or finding my way around unihub. So, I feel good. Not sure how I'll feel in a few weeks when I start working full time again and have to juggle performing with study, but we'll see when we get to it.
Here are some of the things I need to remember when things start to get stressful:
- Re-read the handbook (particularly the pages where it tells you what coursework needs to be submitted. When it all feels like too much and you're getting dragged into reading that feels wordy and unlinked, it's helpful to focus in and remind yourself what exactly it is you need to hand in.)
- Blog every week (even if you don't manage anything else, make a blog post about how you're feeling and you will feel a lot more productive and on track.)
- Talk to course mates (I am endlessly grateful for the help of the other people in my module; they really got me through. If I've learnt anything it's that collective intelligence is real and so, so important - particularly in distance learning.)
Also, a big welcome to all Module 1s, it's confusing at first but I promise it'll get easier! Talk to each other, join the Facebook group and ask for help if you need it :)
Break a leg everyone!
We can do this xx
