Start of Something New

...I wasn't sure what to title this first post but, of course, High School Musical (my childhood introduction to all things theatre), provides the answer.  I applied for this course without a full understanding of what it would entail, just knowing I wanted to learn and have a productive year, in spite of the virus.  Now, having been to the programme induction, read the handbooks and got my head round the time table, I feel I know more and (somehow) less at the same time.  Taking the advice of the previous Module 1 students, I have decided not to be worried though.  My plan is to read.  Read until I have something interesting to say.  I may be confused, but I am confused and hopeful.  I am excited to start 'something new' and fully commit myself to the process.  Here we go!

  1. Hi Lizzie!
Loving the HSM quote for a bit of light relief! I too feel like I'm calling into question my own previous understanding of things and the way that I learn and I'm now seeing this as a chance to learn more about myself as well as my practice. As Helen was saying last night, the handbook is just a list of ingredients and using them all in the order they're given to you may not be as helpful for one person as it is for another. I felt like I had to read the handbook a few times before I could decide what order of action would be most productive for me. I have started by identifying some areas of learning as I feel I can better research off the back of that.

    Good luck with your reading!

    1. Hi Shannon,
Thanks so much for your comment! I'm definitely feeling a lot more optimistic about things after the Module 1 discussion. Currently working up the courage to write my next blog post and the spider diagram to discover areas of learning really helped. Looking forward to reading your blog!
